If you've changed your mind and need to return an item, you usually have 30 days from the date of collection or delivery to return it.
This year our extended Christmas returns period means that all purchases made between Friday 29th September and Monday 25th December 2023 can be returned right up to Wednesday 31st January 2024.
Your item(s) needs to be:
Unused and with all original components
In its original packaging (with the tags if applicable)
In a resaleable condition security seals intact (where applicable)
With its proof of purchase
With any free items that came with the product
Refunds will be processed by the original payment method. If you paid by card, it can take up to 5 working days to appear back in your account; with PayPal, refunds can take up to 30 days.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
If you return your item(s) back to an Argos store, we can trigger a refund immediately. It may take up to 5 working days for your bank to process it into your account. If you paid by cash or gift card you'll be refunded in store using the original payment method. PayPal refunds can take up to 30 days.
If you return your item(s) by home collection or post, please allow up to two weeks for postage time - as soon as we have it we'll start the refund.
It may take up to 5 working days to appear in your account (depending on your bank). We're not able to track progress of the refund once it's been put through, but don't worry, you'll receive confirmation when it's processed.
Don't forget, all returned items must be in line with our returns policy, these products will need to be unused and in their original packaging, with proof of purchase.
You can return your item to a Sainsbury's collection point, an Argos store within a Sainsbury's supermarket or an Argos store. You'll need to take with you either:
Some items like food, pierced jewellery and underwear can't be exchanged or refunded, unless they're faulty. Our website indicates which items are non-refundable.
If you're returning a DVD, music or software product, it must be unused and in its original sealed packaging.
If the item or packaging has been handled excessively, we reserve the right to reduce the amount we refund you.
We might ask for the product serial number or similar, to check the item was supplied by us.
Naturally, none of this affects your consumer rights.
If we are collecting your item, it will be inspected prior to being refunded. Please note that if the item has been inspected and is not returned as described we reserve the right to reject the refund or offer a partial refund depending on the condition of the item returned.
If you don't collect your item within 7 days, your order will be cancelled, and you'll be refunded via your original payment method(s).
So, your points will be refunded back to your Nectar card, and if you part-paid, any balance will be refunded to your payment card.
Return your item as you would normally. We'll refund the Nectar portion of your payment as an Argos Gift Card (as we're not able to refund your Nectar points).
The remainder, where applicable, will be refunded via the original payment method, such as cash or payment card. If you're returning an item in-store, you'll need to do this at a staffed till.
What about orders I don't pick-up?
If you don't collect your item within 7 days, your order will be cancelled, and you'll be refunded via your original payment method(s). So, your points will be refunded back to your Nectar card, and if you part-paid, any balance will be refunded to your payment card.
As soon as we receive your item back, we'll sort out your refund or replacement - and that's a promise. For replacements, please allow up to 2 weeks for postage time. For a refund, depending on how you've paid, can take between 5 and 7 days to appear in your account (depending on your bank). Just so you know, PayPal refunds can take up to 30 days.
Yes, if you return your item/s and receive a refund, you wont receive the Nectar points for that order.
